Kent's Birthday

We celebrated family birthday for Kent on Sunday with his favorite pizza (Round Table). It was a delicious treat, but not as good as the pizza he makes Boe and I every Saturday for lunch on the BBQ here at home! Everyone came over to celebrate and we finished off with some yummy chocolate cake. Boeing even had a good time crawling under the dinner table.

Orange

This week was a rough one! Kent had to go to Dallas, TX for training and I had to get Boeing out with me in the morning. I can hardly get myself out in time, let alone Love Bug. Luckily Nama Yeager doesn't mind him in his jammies with matching hair to boot!

Because orange is one of my new favorite colors (not to replace my most favorite green), I decided it would be the first for trying to make learning colors fun. Both sets of grandparents say Boeing already knows his colors, but I just don't see it. After gathering up all the orange things from around the house I put them in the drawer under the kitchen table. Boeing already loves getting into the stuff (napkins, vitamins, placemats) after we eat, so why not surprise him with a little switch up!
Of course he had to get an orange crayon to color with too! Notice the scab on his nose. Boe had a little run in with the astro turf stuff coming out of the tunnel too fast at school (parenting class one morning a week).

Valentine's Day

This year we celebrated Valentines over multiple days. Thursday Boeing took suckers to his teachers at parenting class with Kent, favors on Friday for friends at a playdate, a nice dinner Saturday night, and treats on Valentine's Day! Love was certainly in the air!

Suckers for Teachers

Not wanting to load a treat bag full of candy, I decided to make some pink and red play dough with Kool Aid. Threw in a mini rolling pin and wrapped it up in some bags I already had, voila, favor complete! Hope Boe's friends enjoy it as much as he did!

Boeing and I went to a playdate after the snow on the Friday before Valentines; it is always fun to see the kids playing together.

Dinner at home
...and Dessert!!!
Tempah sandwiches for Valentine's lunch, mmmm A little something for Daddy...
and a little something for Boeing-"How Do I Love You" and "Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse" (he was more interested in the calculator).

Snow Day

It was a beautiful stereotypical Southern California day yesterday with temperatures in the mid seventies. There had been some rain and real cold days earlier in the week, dumping snow as low as 2500 feet. Kent and I loaded Boe and all the other gear we imagined we might need for a first trip to the cold white stuff. Mount Pinos was the best bet, as the roads were still open to get back to the snow. At first Boeing seemed really excited, pointing to the ground and squirming to get down. The excitement faded quickly once he felt the cold on his butt and subsequently his hands. Although he refused to wear his mittens, he was happy to borrow Daddy's gloves. Our visit was a short, yet fun family outing!

Boeing's favorite book right now is "Mighty Movers-Diggers and Dumpers." We read this book over and over while Boe points to the different pieces of heavy machinery. Of course when we saw this snow plow the boys had to head over for a look. Little Yeager is so much like his daddy; just too cute!

Sunshine at the Park

Kent and I took Boeing to the local park to enjoy the warm afternoon. He is at such a fun age to go and play at the big open playground. Although we go often, this was the first time Boe figured out how to go up the stairs and then turn himself around to slide down on his tummy! In addition to all the jungle gym equiptment, the park has basketball courts, a baseball field and lots of open green space. The older boys playing ball always seems to facinate him!

When we got home Boe checked for the mail. Often he likes to "throw" the mail onto the driveway. Maybe someday it can be his job to actually collect it and bring it inside!

It was a full day after coming to see Mommy at work, visiting cousin Nick at the comic book store and playing hard at the park.
