ALOHA

Being married to a pilot has certainly made me a very luck little girl! School officially got out on Friday and we were on a flight Monday night for a quick little island relaxation. We took Boeing last year to the Big Island of Hawaii and he was still just a bit too young to really enjoy it. This year he went absolutely crazy over the big "Pool" (aka the ocean). It was really such an enjoyable time being in the warm, blue and clear water with my two most favorite boys. Although we only went for a few days, we sure had a nice time. There are too many pictures to select from, so I just decided to take the stress out and post all the ones I want! Boe is with Grama and Grampa right now, so I am able to post (he just started saying Grama and Grampa two days ago-Grama first).

Snorkeling spot next to our resort

We brought lots of books-the perfect reading spot on our patio

Of course the "Trash Cans" had to come too!

Way too much fun in the water riding the waves with Daddy

Loved the sand too!

In the water with Mama

Checking out the surf

Crash!

The zoo in Hilo, that is a white tiger in the background.

Breakfast South of Kona at the Coffee Shack. They have a fantastic view, great menu, and there are always lots of geckos snacking on jelly. Boeing can now say gecko, too cute.

Another day, another beach, more perfect water!

Shells everywhere

Crummy photo, but Kent is showing Boeing the airplane we are about the board and telling him all the ins and outs. He was so perfect on the flight over and we just barely go on. It was chaos and we didn't get to sit with Daddy; we received many compliments on what a good baby we have!

Mother's Day

A bit late, but just had to include this photo of my beautiful succulant wreath Kent and Boeing selected for my front door. I love wreaths and have recently been very attracted to succulants.

A favortie view from the kitchen window (the best Mother's Day gift every)

A quick trip to the farmers market, looks like a yummy salad with homemade crutons!

BUSY Kid Party Weekend

Last weekend was CRAZY with two of Boeing's girlfriends celebrating their second birthday. On Saturday we joined Sammie with friends and family for a Dora the Explorer party. Then on Sunday we partied with Abby at her Alice and Wonderland tea party. Both parties were super fun and Boeing really enjoyed playing with all of his friends (he kept saying Abby all day when he woke from his nap). For both of the girls I wanted to make part of the gift-I like the crafting and the personal touch. Kent helped cut the wood for Sammie's puzzle and Abby's memory cards.
Sammie's Party

Boe does not watch TV, so he had no idea who Dora was.

Didn't get a photo of Boeing and Abbey playing at her party, but here they are the day before!

Auntie Amy's Graduation and Celebration

After two hard years, Auntie Amy has finaly earned her Masters Degree in Administration from Cal State Northridge. It was a grand celebration that started with the hooding ceremony and ended with some sweets and lots of bubbly! We are very proud of Amy's accomplishments and wish her luck in an administrative position when the time is right.

Celebration!!!

Of course we all had to show up matching the color theme! My boys are so handsome!

Boeing's School Pot-Luck

Boeing has been going to the local Parenting Education classes with Kent and I for the last two and a half years. It is a great time and we learn so much; and have made so many friends. At first I took Boe to the classes, but now that I have returned to work, Kent gets to take him. This afternoon was the annual spring pot luck-fun!

Sanitation Open House

The Bureau of Sanitation host an Open House once a year at different locations in the city. Given Boe's love of all trash cans, we just had to go! Kent had to work for the East Side one, but we still went with GramE, GrampE, Aunt Bonnie and Aunt Judy. What a great treat for everyone; so much to see and learn about our city's sanitation system. They were so friendly and knowledgable, we really had a good time. After checking out all of the different trucks and hearing about the different jobs each one could do, we played a recycling game for a new trash can. There wase even a raffle and the man at our table who won gave Boeing all three of the cans (a "bU" one, green and black one).

The city uses Natural Compressed Gas to fuel their trucks!

A ride in the Trash Truck!

Look at all those new cans! It was like heaven for Boe!!

Could life be any better?

Daddy was able to come with us for the West Side Open House and Boe showed him all around. Of course we got another new "bU" can!

What a day! Spent!

Tarzan

Over the Spring break we lost our beloved little Tarzan. The sweet little black kitten came into our lives just weeks before Boe was born. He must have sought us out as suckers, because he was one sick little guy and would not leave the safety of our apricot tree. Kent nursed him back to health and he was Kent's forever! Every day he followed Kent around the yard and kept under toe; he knew he was loved. Over the next two years he would work his way into our hearts and our home (originally he was supposed to be "the outside cat"). After surviving a rebound from a speeding car and supsequent hip removal surgery, he continued to lead an adventurous life in our little neighborhood. Sadly, he met his demise and we had to put him down. It was crushing to the entire neighborhood (he often went into any open home) and absolutely heart breaking to Kent and I. Every time I read Boeing "Goodnight Moon" I will think of him "...and two little kittens" (Tarzan and Spunkers). We will miss him forever.
