Gonna Be Awhile (getting caught up)

Spring came and went faster than a hopping bunny. Boeing and I enjoyed having some friends over to play. Sadly, the few shots I got of them in action all missed their charming little faces. They did have fun and so did us mommies!
Snacks (not a playdate without cupcakes)

Oh the things you can do with sample paint chips!

"Take me for a walk!" A nice warm day before Kent left end of April

The lighting is terrible, but I love the little skip in Boe's step and the happiness in his face!

My girlfriend and I like to make a date of hitting the LA Kids Consignment Sale - yet another way to reduce our footprint on the earth, and a great way to get a TON of clothes for my growing little man! The greatest thing about shopping at the big sale is the variety of clothes all in one stop. We usually get more than we need and still save big. I hope to teach Boeing to be thrifty when he can; it is a good lesson to be learned!

On the Blog Again (sing it)

Although this blog was my intention of documenting our little footprint in this world, it appears from my record keeping that life has stopped over here. Unfortunately, quite the opposite! I will attempt to backlog everything that we experienced over the transition from winter to summer, but starting from this point forward will probably minimize my insanity. Some photos have already been cleaned and filed, so I will just start with those and see where I end up!

Entering the third week of summer, I am finally attempting to get back to the blog posting. Spring semester was rough around these parts with my full time position teaching seventh grade life science, Health Behavior Theory at CSUN, and Kent being in training for over a month (in Kansas)! A lot has changed and we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully the stars are alligning for us, as Kent's new adventure as a private/corporate pilot will allow for me to stay home more than part time. A position at CSUN looks good as well, so things will fall into play as we have always wanted.

Warm spring day outside in our yard with Daddy's poppies

A day in Fillmore at the Fish Hatchery and the Old Train Depoit

These are the cranes waiting for the fish run off after a tank cleaning!

Brought our lunch from home

The fountain was a little distraction away from eating!

Building Vocabulary

Me- "How's that strawberry Boeing?"
Boeing - "It's delightful!"

Oh the things he says!

Yesterday afternoon -
me "Boeing, may I please have a kiss?"
Boe "Oh sure, take it off of my lips" while pinching his lips

This morning while Kent and I wallowed in bed for a few minutes and Boeing checked on his toys-
me "PU, do I smell poops Boeing?"
Boe "Yes, I have poops and Daddy is going to clean it all up"
me "What did you say" (so Kent could hear it again!)
Boe "I have a poops FOR YOU DADDY" while pointing to Kent

Oh, he makes me laugh so much! Here are some cute things I have jotted down and am finally getting around to posting them (my notes are several months old, Boeing was about 2 years and 3 months when I noted these quotes)

"What's going on over here Wheels on the Bus?"

"I looked everywhere....I can't find it!"

"How'd that happen?"

"That sounds like fun!" and "Yeah, that would be great!"

"Papa, Daddy and GrampE are good fixers."

"Mommy is a good reader"

"I'm too busy to eat right now, I'm playing!"

Two and a Half, NO WAY!

Yesterday Boeing turned 30 months! I Boe words, "How'd that happen?" He just gets funner and funner (is that really a word?) every day. Today I pulled the camera out and shot a few photos. He was just hammin it up, jumping at me to snap the flash down after every photo. I love his smile, he melts me. Lately he has been asking who made this, who made that (like the house, the bath tub, the car...); today he asked "who made me?", I was so proud to take credit (with Daddy of course!)

Play at It's Best

I love that despite all of the nice and new toys Boeing has in his collection, he is still happiest with the simple things. This pleases me, as a creative imagination is so important for him to develop. It is so fun listening to the conversations he has with himself while playing; and the things he tells Kent and I to do while playing with him. "Mommy, you want to be the tow truck!" "Daddy, you want to build a fort."
Came home to this fort!
